Weathersfield Mission Statement
Weathersfield strives to make available to all students a sound basic education in the traditional scholastic disciplines. Opportunities for enrichment are offered through academics, athletics, and in the arts. We are dedicated to providing for our children a safe, well-maintained place in which to learn, a sensitive and academically superior faculty, and a motivational framework to encourage them to their highest level of achievement. In order for our schools to both reflect and lead our community, we seek to promote a healthy discourse among parents, community members, students and staff. It is our intent to encourage and reinforce the ideals of personal and social responsibility, and to nurture in our students are respect for themselves and an understanding of others.
School Board Meeting Ground Rules
In an effort to have successful meetings, we have adopted ground rules for all of us to follow.
Please:
- raise your hand and be recognized before speaking
- direct all comments only to the chair person of the board
- allow others to finish what they are saying
- respect everyone's right to an opinion
- talk in a normal conversational tone
Suggestions and Concerns
Should you have a concern or suggestion involving the schools that you wish to communicate, there is a "chain of command" which should be followed:
Step 1. Employee involved Step 2. Building Principal Step 3. Superintendent Step 4. School Board
If your concern is not resolved at one step, then move on to the next step. We believe that following these steps in order is the best and most direct way for communication.
