WEATHERSFIELD SCHOOL CLOSING PROCEDURE Should there be a need for either a delayed opening (up to 2 hours), school closing due to inclement weather, or early release, the following procedures will take place: The Principal and Weathersfield Department of Public Works Supervisor confer on the conditions and make a decision and then notification on the decision is made to the radio stations, television stations, on the school website, and to staff. Be aware that in the event of a 2 hour delay, there is still the possibility school can be canceled for the entire day. The WS office maintains a Student Information Sheet on each student in the school, which was mailed to you in August. On the bottom of those sheets is a section where parents may fill in directions on where students should go in case we close school early. These sheets should be returned to school as soon as possible. We make every possible attempt to contact families during an unscheduled early release. In the event a parent/guardian could not be reached, we will follow instructions at the bottom of Student Information Sheet. If Weathersfield School cancels, the Weathersfield High School connections from Springfield and Windsor High School will not be running and students need to make other arrangements.
Please check the following TV and Radio Stations after 6:00 AM for closing information:
WCAX, WNNE, and SAPA Public TV Channel 8
WXLF-95.3, WFYX-96.3, WWOD-104.3, WHDQ-106.1, and WZLF-107.1
We also list it on our School Website: www.weathersfieldschool.org
